Wheel of rays

For years there is a Winter Wonerland in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Lovely stalls with food, drinks and a skatingring on the main square. We try to visit it at least once a year and it keeps getting better every time. Of course the camera came along too. No tripod, so only handheld shots and this was one that was almost good enough... It's not completely sharp and ISO800 did some damage. Fixed it a bit bit Noise Ninja, adjusted some levels, cropped it and resize for the Internet. Seasons greatings and happy new yeat to you all!

Door to the past

Shot in the beautiful centre of Aachen. The picture was slightly bigger, but I decided to crop it to accentuate the door as much as possible. It didn't needed a lot of work actually. I desaturated the photo and played with the levels to get more contrast. Then I placed an overlay to enhance the sharpness a bit more and resized it for the web.

Another photo taken in London, on the corner of Marylebone Road and Baker Street. Some basic levels, enhance some blackness and that is pretty puch it. These kind of lovely shots can of course only be taken in London!

Another shot of the concert in Paradiso by Sellaband. Had lots of shots of this group and this guitarist has a wonderful expression every time he plays. Too bad a lot of great actions shots were lost in post production, but I think this is still a pretty nice pic with a lovely feel to it. Corrected the colours, cropped it and did some noise removal and that is basically it.

On August 15th we went to a concert at Paradiso, a well known music podium in Amsterdam. Took around 200 photos that night and this is just one of them, of the lead singer of So What. Changed the colour temperature, turned up the blacks, cropped it, some slight noise reduction and spot repaired a silly spot in the photo. Very pleased with my first attempt of music photography actually. Though the real interesting "action shots" that night were all slightly blurry. Better next time!

Muiderslot Castle

A lovely old castle just a little drive from my house. Wanted to go here to do a photo shoot for an assignment. Not the greatest photo I could have taken, but it was getting dark very quickly. Probably will come back here one day soon! Custom whitebalance, cloned out a lamp, changed levels to enhance the black in the photo and that's about it besides the cropping.

Lightning

A wonderful evening with lots of thunderstorms. I took about twenty pictures earlier in the evening, to no avail. After a pause of half an hour or so, more thunderstorms came our way. This time I was prepared and took this magnificent shot of a horizontal discharge! Due to the 30 seconds exposure on ISO 800, I had a bit of noise. Used noise Ninja to clean it up, and cropped out the window frame.

Sem playing with his necklace at the local zoo. Lovely day, lovely weather and lovely pics were made too! Did some colour editing, brightness and contrast, cropped it and that's it. Kids are naturally beautifull of course!

Went to the local zoo and made some wonderful photos there, among them some of a tiger and her cub. Just did some levelling, brightness, contrast, removed some noise and cropped it. At 31 december 2008 I uploaded a new version. Slightly sharper, better colours.
